We want to thank all of you for your offers to help in electing Wayne Baker as the PPC Member of Parliament (MP) in this upcoming election. We all want Wayne in office fighting for those of us who value freedom, responsibility, respect and fairness—representing our riding of Perth Wellington in the House of Commons. Of course, whichever political party has the most MPs elected, forms the government. And that would make the leader of the PPCs, Maxime Bernier our Prime Minister of Canada!
There are lots of ways to support the campaign:
2. Tell your friends, family, and other like-minded people about us. Watch this video of Wayne explaining why voting PPC is NOT splitting the vote - it is excellent!
3. Consider making a donation if you are willing and able to:
a) E-Transfer is the best way to donate. The email to transfer to is: nitemar999@gmail.com
b) Cheques can be made out to: Marilyn Baker Official Agent, 8730 Wellington Rd 14, Arthur, ON N0G 1A0
c) Credit card via Paypal
4. There is always a need for volunteers to knock on doors and help canvas. Please contact us if you would like to help with this.
5. We also need “Scrutineers”—mainly for Election Day (and a couple on the day after election day in Stratford).
This last item is the main reason we are reaching out today. We want to make sure that we protect the integrity of the electoral process by ensuring that this election is held accountable. In other words, we want to make sure every one of your votes are counted! It also provides you with information you can use to learn more about the electoral process and how you can participate… and we want to make sure all of your votes are counted!!! Or did I say that already?!?!
So, we need a minimum of one “scrutineer” to volunteer at each of the 25 polling stations in our riding. A scrutineer is appointed to represent their candidate at a poll. A scrutineer's role is to observe the electoral process, from poll opening until the counting of ballots after polls close and the tallying of unofficial results. That means dropping in on Election Day 9:30am to 9:30pm every couple of hours to just check in and monitor the process. Then, we need you to monitor the counting of ballots after the polls close.
Once we have established our volunteers, we will contact you with regards to a training meeting, most likely on Sunday, hopefully by Zoom.
There is one requirement—the scrutineer must agree to remain politically neutral at all times during their time as scrutineer. This includes following Elections Canada’s mandate to wear face coverings. If you are willing to comply, we would really appreciate your help as a scrutineer.
Here is a list of every polling station that needs a scrutineer.
You can help at any location, it can be the one closest to you or any other one. We will try to accommodate your preference, but if there are no volunteers at a given location, then we would appreciate your willingness to travel.
If you are willing to help, please email us and clearly say:
- Location(s) - whichever one(s) you’re willing to go to.
- Town(s) (just for confirmation).
- Please list them in order of your preference. We will try to accommodate to our best ability.
- Your preferred method of communication (i.e., email or phone).
- If phone is your preferred method, please confirm the best phone # to use.
- Please confirm your home address with postal code, in case we don’t have it in our contact list yet.
Let us know if you can help. Together, we can bring sanity back to Canadian Politics!
God bless Canada!!!
