“True North Strong and Free”? A Political Quagmire
Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor,

I find it absolutely incredulous that the Truckers Protest in Ottawa was accused of being an illegal protest. In fact it was so illegal that the Sociopathic Prime Minister we are currently enduring had to declare war on his own citizens by invoking the Emergency Measures Act. Yet when push comes to shove, the only illegal thing the Ottawa Protesters could be charged with is “Mischief”.

Now on the other side of the spectrum. The activities of our Government by overstepping the bounds set on it by our Constitution has severely damaged for good reason every Canadian’s trust in formerly highly regarded and trusted institutions. Our Police cannot be trusted: “I was just following orders” or “I was only doing my job”, ceased being viable justification for breaking “Moral” Laws at Nuremburg after the 2nd World War. There is no justification for willfully sabotaging compliant equipment (3 excavators at Coutts), claiming to have seized a cache of weapons (given police activities I consider that a plant and lie). In Ottawa, the abuse of power exercised by the Police is beyond reprehensible.

As if illegal police activity wasn’t enough, our Government then went on to not only threaten, but actually seize the Bank Accounts of identified leaders in the convoy. There was also a threat to seize the accounts of any donor to Give Send Go. Now, moving forward, every Canadian with a Bank account needs to be very very wary of their situation, especially if they choose not to align their beliefs with a highly immoral and corrupt Government such as we are enduring right now.

On the next level, our Media, and in particular the Wellington Advertiser was hugely in the wrong for choosing to support illegal activity with its article “County donors gave over $24,000.00 to ‘Freedom Convoy’” and actually print the illegally obtained information. Then to add insult to injury, the Advertiser had gall enough to identify Corey Woods because he happened to be a politician. I take my hat off to Mr Woods, and thank him for his contribution to help return our country to its rightful place as the “True North Strong and Free”
To sum up, I find myself reluctantly, in the middle of this political quagmire we currently find ourselves. I have also intuitively distrusted donating money online in any way shape or form. I actually had the opportunity to spend a small amount of time in Ottawa during the protest. I will tell you that I went with a pocket full of cash, and when I came home my pockets were empty, and no I was NOT robbed. The true victims in this whole mess are the Canadian Citizens who cannot trust their institutions anymore.
